May 26 a day to make good things happen in Lincoln

An upcoming community giving day event provides 24-hour focus to the importance of philanthropy within the Lincoln community and at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, the Lincoln community—and those around the world who care about the important work of this city’s nonprofit organizations—will come together for the annual Give to Lincoln Day.

Every donation made at givetolincoln.com this day helps your favorite Lincoln charities, including the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Your gift goes even further on May 26 because the organizations you help will also receive a percentage-based share of a $300,000 challenge match pool.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln and its philanthropic partner, the University of Nebraska Foundation, use this opportunity to request your support for the Nebraska Legends Scholarship and Recruitment Program.

The Nebraska Legends Program provides financial scholarship assistance to incoming college freshmen and supports them with programs that improve academic, social and life skills, making them more likely to remain at the university and graduate.

Legends scholarship recipients are more likely to achieve academic success, because they are encouraged through campus involvement, mentoring, academic advisement and networking. The Legends Program also provides the university with financial resources needed to recruit the best and brightest students to attend UNL, keeping our high-potential talent in-state.

Gifts for Give to Lincoln Day may be scheduled anytime between May 1 and May 26. To make your gift of any amount count, go to givetolincoln.com.
