The Department of Internal Medicine provides health care for adult patients, emphasizing the care of the whole person, particularly prevention and wellness. Providing the best education for our residents and medical students, along with research in medical education, medical decision making, computers in health care, thyroid disease, influenza, colds, and preventive care are also part of the mission of the department.

Meg Johnson

UNMC Health Sciences

Meg has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 25 years. With the foundation from 1997-2001, she rejoined the team in 2011 to work on behalf of UNMC. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Believing that education and philanthropy transform lives, Meg values helping donors achieve their goals and make an impact at UNMC.

Kellie Esters

College of Medicine

Kellie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Monmouth College and a Master of Science degree from Western Illinois University. She joined the University of Nebraska Foundation in 2017 with more than 25 years of experience in education and health care advancement. Kellie enjoys working with UNMC’s College of Medicine and supports its mission and commitment to community health.

Amy Trenolone

College of Medicine

Amy earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an organizational communication major from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Her time as a UNK student was transformational, and she believes that education can truly change lives. Amy joined the UNMC College of Medicine team at the foundation in 2018 after spending time in sales, marketing and other fundraising roles.

Mike Clancy

UNMC

Mike has a background in higher education development and planned giving and joined the University of Nebraska Foundation team in 2019. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University and holds certification as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy. Mike’s work is focused on securing support for the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Medicine.
