The College of Arts and Sciences is the oldest, largest and most diverse college in the university and state. Encompassing a comprehensive range of academic disciplines, the college is comprised of nearly 60 departments, programs, institutes and centers. The commitment to a liberal arts education is reflected in nearly 60 majors and minors in the humanities, social sciences and physical sciences and 20 pre-professional programs.

Dean’s Merit Scholarship Fund

A gift to this fund supports merit scholarships used to help recruit students to the UNL College of Arts & Sciences.


Arts & Sciences Student Global Engagement Fund

This fund is used for the benefit and support of A&S students studying abroad or seeking global engagement opportunities.


Joanna Nordhues

College of Arts and Sciences

Joanna has been with the foundation since 2005. She has a Bachelor of Journalism in advertising from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Joanna is routinely surrounded by extremely intelligent, kind and generous people who have achieved great success in their lives and finds these interactions to be a wonderful way to spend her days.

Steve Allen

Director of Development, College of Arts & Sciences

Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications and a master of divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He joined the University of Nebraska Foundation in 2019 and focuses on securing support for UNL’s College of Arts and Sciences.

Joye Fehringer

College of Arts and Sciences

Joye has been with the foundation since 2007 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She is passionate about her job because she enjoys bringing friends and alumni together to help advance the College of Arts and Sciences.
