Support Volunteer and Civic Engagement Programs

UNO’s Signature Service Days are the campus’s opportunity to learn and engage in the connectivity of the Omaha community and the organizations that serve it. These service events are the university’s signature outreach initiatives throughout the school year, connecting campus to community. The Signature Service Days support co-curricular experiences outside of the classroom for students to engage with communities, help socialize the idea of servant leadership and advocacy and extend the campus’s human and monetary resources to community partners. UNO is among a vanguard of universities nationwide committed to dynamic civic engagement – Signature Service Days are a vital contribution to UNO’s holistic college experience for students. As Omaha’s university, UNO is committed to addressing focus areas across the environment, social justice and other pertinent issues of today and tomorrow.

The Signature Service Day volunteer opportunities prioritize the Omaha community and its diverse needs. They are often opportunities for the university and community to work side-by-side to improve the quality of life for those they serve.

A positive impact is apparent among students, the community and UNO. Here is a snapshot from fall 2022 and spring 2023 semesters.
