Evan Heyen Memorial Scholarship Fund

University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Evan went to Hawthorne grade school in Hastings and at a young age surrounded himself with many friends. He loved to play all the youth sports like, baseball, football and soccer. He was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was very active in youth group and music. Evan went to Adams Central junior high and high school. At Adams Central Evan was very involved in activities. His football, marching band, choir and musicals kept him really busy. He loved to play his “Bari” sax and to sing but Evan’s real love was to play his guitar. He was left handed, so learning to play guitar was quite a challenge! He would learn to play songs by playing and singing them over and over.

Evan graduated from Adams Central HS in 2011 and he went to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Evan loved UNL!! He was so excited to be a Husker!! He thought everyone should go to Lincoln. Evan was majoring in history education and was the greatest of all Husker fans.
