Giving Tuesday Nov. 29 is opportunity to help the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Medicine

Giving Tuesday has become a well-recognized tradition of giving following Thanksgiving weekend. This year’s Giving Tuesday is on Nov. 29.

If you wish to support important causes related to the University of Nebraska or Nebraska Medicine on this day or throughout this season of giving, there are ways to make a real difference.

Here are some suggestions for rewarding giving options:

 University of Nebraska at Kearney

More college students than ever experience levels of anxiety, depression, hopelessness and even thoughts of suicide. Fortunately, the UNK Counseling Center is there for Loper students, providing a full range of professional mental health services. Services include personal counseling, group counseling, substance use assessments, crisis intervention, outreach programming, consultation and more. This Giving Tuesday and throughout the giving season, consider a gift to the UNK Student Health Fund which supports the important services and programs of the UNK Counseling Center.

University of Nebraska‒Lincoln

Husker Nation will unite during Giving Tuesday and this giving season for the Huskers Head to Toe campaign in support of student scholarships, making education more affordable for deserving students. These scholarships are awarded by the UNL Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to students with academic promise and financial need. When you give $60 or more between now and Dec. 1, you’ll receive a pair of custom Husker socks designed exclusively for this event. Team up this Giving Tuesday for Huskers Head to Toe as the community unites to impact the lives of students.

University of Nebraska at Omaha

Support UNO on Giving Tuesday and throughout 2023 by joining the Durango of the Month Club. Each member of the Durango of the Month Club will receive an exclusive UNO scarf that you can gift to someone or keep for yourself. You’ll also receive a special photo update from Durango each month in 2023, keeping you up to date with Durango’s life and sharing stories of your impact on UNO students and alumni. To join the Durango of the Month Club, make your gift of $5 a month by Dec. 15, and you will receive your UNO scarf in time for the holidays. You can choose how your gift will help: the UNO Fund for Student Scholarships, the Maverick Food Pantry, the UNO Student Hardship Fund, or the UNO Fund – Area of Greatest Need.

University of Nebraska Medical Center

You can show your love for the University of Nebraska Medical Center during the We ♥ UNMC Campaign. Gifts to this effort on Giving Tuesday or during this giving season will support the UNMC Student Scholarship Fund, making health care education more affordable for deserving students. When you make a gift of $60 or more between Nov. 23 and Dec. 1 you will receive a pair of exclusive UNMC socks as a token of appreciation. Awarded by the UNMC Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, scholarships play a vital role in education, bridging a gap for students who are capable and driven to succeed but lack financial resources.
