Support The hixson-lied college of fine and performing arts

The College of Fine and Performing Arts was established on July 1, 1993, to bring a focus to the arts at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In 2000, the college was officially renamed the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts to recognize a gift of $18 million to the University of Nebraska Foundation by Christina M. Hixson and the Lied Foundation Trust for the college.

Our classes are taught by outstanding faculty, and our students have access to internationally renowned guest artists, performers, art exhibits and films. Some of our most recent guest artists include cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Academy Award-winning editor Mike Hill, New York Times art critic Roberta Smith, opera singer and UNL alumna Barbara Hendricks and Hollywood director Donald Petrie.

Your support for the Hixson-Lied College helps us foster personal attention and global connections as we provide our students the very best experience of a Big Ten university at one of the best values in American higher education. Our students travel, present and perform around the world, thanks to special support from the Hixson-Lied Endowment and other private support.
