The College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media offers programs in art history, communication studies, creative writing, journalism & media communication, music education, music performance, studio art and theatre. We are united by the creative forces of imagination and communication, and our students find the right balance of academics and application to prepare them for careers in diverse fields. Whether that means teaching, creating, performing, communicating or some combination of those, CFAM graduates know their education will help them make an impact in the world. The college is committed to producing scholars, artists and professionals who share an understanding and appreciation of the arts, culture and humanity.
The College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media is structured as three distinct schools: the School of the Arts, the School of Communication and the School of Music. The School of the Arts is comprised of the academic units of Art & Art History, Theatre and Writer’s Workshop.
Featuring a wide variety of exhibitions, broadcasts, performances, concerts and readings, the combination of theory and practice within the college provides students with enriching experiences that make the difference between obtaining a degree and getting an education, between knowing and understanding. Cooperative programs with community organizations and talented local professionals give the college its special character and vitality.
