Support the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders

The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders in the College of Education offers undergraduate programs with teaching endorsements in education of the deaf/hard of hearing and mild/moderate disabilities, and non-endorsement programs in sign language interpreting and speech-language pathology. At the graduate level, the department offers a Master of Science degree with concentrations in behavior disorders, learning disabilities, and mild moderate disabilities; and the Master of Arts/Master of Science degrees in speech-language pathology. The department is committed to preparing professionals who are unique in their ability to serve individuals with disabilities, their families, and the communities in which they live. Faculty, staff, and students are highly engaged in their profession and in the Omaha community.

Nicole has been with the foundation since 2012. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Nicole received scholarships while attending college and appreciates the indelible impact they have on students. For her, it is incredibly meaningful and inspiring to work with donors who want to make a difference in the lives of faculty, students and the university.
