The Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Allergy Medicine Division focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the lungs and respiratory system. Areas of expertise include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, cystic fibrosis, environmental and occupational lung disease, lung cancer, sleep medicine, and the treatment of critically ill adult patients. The division's research labs are concentrated on research in airway inflammation injury and repair. The division is also very active in clinical trials for asthma, COPD, smoking cessation, and cystic fibrosis.

Brenda has 21 years of experience in the nonprofit field, with 16 of those years focused on fundraising. She became a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE) in 2004 and also has completed the University of Nebraska-Omaha Nonprofit Certificate in Fundraising Management. Brenda says she likes to think of her position as a “matchmaker” – connecting donors with charitable opportunities that allow them to fully experience the joy of giving.

Meg has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 25 years. With the foundation from 1997-2001, she rejoined the team in 2011 to work on behalf of UNMC. She has a Bachelor of Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Believing that education and philanthropy transform lives, Meg values helping donors achieve their goals and make an impact at UNMC.
