Support the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program

The Medieval and Renaissance period has a profound impact on our current culture's literature, philosophy, art, religion and politics. Studying the ideas of the medieval and Renaissance period gives us a clearer understanding of our present world, which is dominated by that culture's institutions. The faculty in the Medieval and Renaissance Studies program come from a variety of disciplines including Art History, Classics and Religious

Studies, English, Foreign Languages, History, Music History, and Theatre. The Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program offers an undergraduate major and minor and a graduate minor. The program sponsors a lecture series with both guest speakers and presentations form University of Nebraska faculty and students. The program also sponsors an undergraduate contest for both research essays and creative projects and the Robert Knoll graduate award for the best research essay. The final event of each academic year is a celebration of student accomplishment.
