The Jessica Bedient Mission Trip/Pilgrimage Fund was established at the University of Nebraska Foundation to honor the life and love of Jessica (Lutton) Bedient. Jessica was passionate about experiencing other cultures and serving others. She donated much of her time and energy to helping many different humanitarian causes around the world and throughout her community. To honor her life, which tragically ended on October 12, 2010, the Mission Fund was established for current University of Nebraska students who are participating in international mission trips sponsored by the Newman Center – St. Thomas Aquinas Church.

A single scholarship, in the amount of $1,300 or more will be selected annually by the scholarship’s committee and awarded to a student enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the coming Fall semester. The scholarship is intended to assist with a student’s international mission trip experience.
