Lymphoma & Leukemia

Lymphoma & Leukemia

Today, more than 800,000 Americans live with leukemia, lymphoma, or other cancers of the blood or marrow. With an increasing understanding of these diseases, the survival rates are improving. Yet specialists at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center will not be satisfied until all of these cancers are treatable, if not eliminated. For thirty years the center's lymphoma and leukemia research programs have produced groundbreaking results.

Our multidisciplinary team of oncologists, pathologists, geneticists and scientists work collaboratively to better understand these diseases through cutting-edge research and the rapid translation of knowledge into effective treatments. UNMC's lymphoma program is recognized as one of the world's most successful, having treated patients from every state in the U.S. and more than 20 countries. Therapy for more than 4,000 of these patients included a stem cell transplant - a clinical breakthrough that specialists at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center pioneered more than 30 years ago.
