The mission of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska is to provide a culturally diverse and intellectually stimulating environment for the discovery and application of knowledge in civil and environmental engineering, the education of our students to their fullest potential, and service to the public through outreach and professional activities. In particular, the mission involves: Providing the nation with a new generation of engineers that can meet challenges of the 21st century, in particular as related to civil infrastructure.

Serving the state of Nebraska and the nation by providing state-of-the-art expertise in civil engineering. Making important contributions in various areas of civil engineering by advancing the existing knowledge and developing new technologies. Facilitating the enrichment of the academic and professional experience of students, faculty and the engineering community.Providing outreach to the public and private sectors. Justin earned his bachelor’s degree from UNL’s College of Business. With 10 years of experience in the insurance industry and eight years as a financial advisor, Justin brings valuable experience to the development team. Justin has always been passionate about community service and giving back. He has served on a long list of boards and committees, including most recently Leadership Lincoln, the Community Services Fund of Nebraska and Lincoln’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Justin believes in the power of education to transform our society and in the impact learning has on an individual. Justin is married and has three children, ages 9, 7 and 3.

Amy has been a fundraiser at the foundation since 2012. She has a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising from UNL. She is passionate about her job because she enjoys helping students achieve their dreams of attending college.

A Nebraska native, Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a chemistry major from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2008. As a nontraditional student, he experienced firsthand the impact of receiving a higher education through the gift of scholarships, and he is passionate about helping others receive the same transformational opportunity. Prior to joining the foundation in 2016, Jeremy spent his career in information systems and technology.

Kathy was born and raised in Omaha, she received her bachelor’s degree from TCU. She joined the Foundation in 2015. Kathy has volunteered with Teammates for years and has been able to watch the power of education in Nebraska. This passion drives her work at the Foundation.
