The Kiewit Corporation, based in Omaha, is one of the largest contractors in the world. Many of its employees – about 600 – are University of Nebraska graduates. Some have risen to top leadership jobs – people like Rick Lanoha, Dave Miles and former Husker All-American offensive lineman Doug Glaser. But the large number of NU grads is not just because the company’s headquarters is in Nebraska. Other units of the company – the West Coast ones in particular – have regularly recruited NU students over the years.
