For the Love of Books is being held for the second year at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln on Feb. 8, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Lentz Room 218 in Love Library, 1318 R Street. The event is free and open to the public with food and beverages available.
Together, the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program and Archives and Special Collections of UNL Libraries present the For the Love of Books celebration to support students in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. It also supports the conservation of special collections and rare books from the Medieval and Renaissance periods.
A small curated selection of rare books available for adoption will be on public display.
Information about the program, including how to make a secure donation online and adopting a unique book, is online at unl.edu/medren/love-books.
A list of available books with detailed descriptions is also on the website.
The event will feature musical entertainment by the band Tupelo Springfield presented by Professors Stephen Buhler, Jack Vespa and Kelly Stage and vocalist Julia Schleck. Together they will perform a selection of songs inspired by sonnets, Spanish sonnet songs and early modern arrangements.
