Nancy Rase Cancer Research Fund-Rase Strong

Nancy Rase was diagnosed with an advanced stage of a rare type of cancer. Nancy passed away on December 6, 2014 at the age of 42, less than a year after her diagnosis. Her strength and courage throughout her journey inspired the phrase “Rase Strong” among those that knew her and knew of her. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, grand daughter and friend. She was also an avid runner who enjoyed and participating in area races. Donations to the Nancy Rase Cancer Research Fund - Rase Strong Fund will be directed to Intestinal Cancer Research at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

Ashley joined the University of Nebraska Foundation team in 2017. A Nebraska native, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Business Administration in 2005. Ashley is passionate about her work and excited to be a part of the fight against cancer in her role supporting the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

Tom has been with the foundation since 2002. He has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He supports the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and oncology related departments at UNMC. Tom enjoys working at the foundation because he is assisting the people at UNMC who work tirelessly to help others.
