Karen S Kavanaugh-Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund

Karen S Kavanaugh-Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund

Karen practiced dietetics for 21 years, three years as a clinical dietitian at Lincoln General Hospital (now Bryan LGH West), and the last 18 years at UNL.  The first 17 years, Karen worked in a split position with the Health Center and Campus Recreation; in Fall 2011 she became full time at Campus Recreation.

Karen presented locally, regionally, nationally and internationally about eating disorders and weight management.  Her passion was eating disorder prevention. She taught people to be happy with whom they are and to find joy and pleasure in food.

Memorials to be directed to the University of Nebraska Foundation for the Karen S. Kavanaugh-Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund to be used for graduate students in the Dietetics Internship Program.
