Computer Science & Information Systems Fund

CSIS students are known for their diverse innovative class and research projects, which require costly hardware and software support. For example, one team of 2010 seniors developed a proof-of-concept hardware/software implementation of a system that uses a laser beam focused on the back of a laptop to detect keystrokes, as illustrated in the CBS Numb3rs television show. A sampling of other on-going student projects include: a multi-touch table for keyboard-less input; an open source WeatherSeer application which can record storm tracks; capacitive touch input devices; and Android mobile phone applications.
