Help make challenging times a little less challenging.

For months the effects of COVID-19 have stretched across our campus, our city, our state and our world. The pandemic has affected the health of thousands of Nebraskans and has financially impacted many, many more. It is a difficult time for us all, but the crisis has created especially adverse hardships for many students and employees of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Many of you have asked how you might offer some assistance. For those of you who are able to make a gift in this time of crisis, the University of Nebraska has three funds that will help. Whether you’re able to give or not, we hope you and your family remain safe and healthy.

University of Nebraska Emergency Assistance Fund

The University of Nebraska Emergency Assistance Fund was created to help support students and employees on all four campuses who are now facing sudden financial hardship due to crisis situations such as last year’s flooding, personal hardship and now the current cancellation of on-campus classes due to the current crisis.

Education takes a backseat for students who are food insecure or unable to pay housing and other expenses. Many don’t know the status of their employment, and many will return home for the rest of the semester. For some students, this is a life-altering crisis.

Please, if you’re able, consider a gift to the University of Nebraska Emergency Assistance fund to help at-risk students in our university family.

N Fund – Chancellor’s Greatest Needs

A gift to this fund provides flexible financial support to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln for investments in special projects that enhance the teaching, research and outreach missions of the university.

N Fund – Student Scholarships

A gift to this fund supports students by providing scholarships recognizing academic excellence and financial need. The scholarships are awarded through UNL’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.

About the Foundation

Our mission is to grow relationships and resources that enable the University of Nebraska to change lives and save lives.

The University of Nebraska Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization created in 1936 by community leaders who wanted to create excellence at the university not possible through state funding alone. We manage more than 11,000 donor funds, an endowment ranked in the top 25 among public universities and keep our cost of fundraising below that of our peers.

Our vision is to be recognized as the trusted partner of those wishing to support the University of Nebraska and its affiliates.

The University of Nebraska Foundation (EIN: 47-0379839) is exempt from federal income tax under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.
