UNO IS&T Code Crush Fund for Women in IT

UNO IS&T Code Crush Fund for Women in IT

Launched in 2013, CodeCrush is the largest iSTEM immersion experience for girls and their teachers in the Midwest. CodeCrush is a program of the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Information Science and Technology’s Women in IT Initiative, a community-run task force established to increase the number of women entering the information technology workforce. CodeCrush has seen its application pool rise nearly 200 percent, showcasing the quality and need for such creative programs.

The College of Information Science and Technology has teamed up with the University of Nebraska Foundation to ensure that CodeCrush continues to be available for girls interested in careers in IT.

Private support helps make CodeCrush possible. The Peter Kiewit Foundation recently awarded CodeCrush a challenge grant that runs through 2021. Gifts from other donors, matched by this grant, will support a portion of the cost of offering this valuable iSTEM immersion experience. For more information on this challenge grant, please contact Vanessa Denney, Director of Development for the College of Information Science and Technology, at vanessa.denney@nufoundation.org or 402-502-4132.

Generous support from donors like you makes CodeCrush possible. Your gift will help encourage girls to pursue their love of IT and give them the confidence to achieve their dreams. Thank you.
