Since its founding in 1968, the UNL Computer Science and Engineering Department has been educating the people who make people’s lives better through computers. From our new home in the Schorr Center, we are conducting state-of-the-art research in software engineering, informatics and systems. We are also opening
doors and exposing students to the world of computing in order to create tomorrow’s technology leaders.
From our faculty, to our research program, to our students - our department is among the finest in the country. Nine of our faculty have received National Science Foundation career awards, nearly one-third have received teaching awards and three are ranked among the world’s top 50 software engineering scholars. Our program has averaged more than $4 million in research grants annually. And, we continue to recruit the best and the brightest students who excel in the classroom and beyond.
