Established in 1997 to provide primary health care to indigent populations, the SHARING clinics have grown and annually provide medical care to more than 1400 children and adults. SHARING is the only clinic in the nation operated and staffed by students from every health-professional college. Recognized by Department of Health and Human Services with a Innovations in Health Award, the SHARING Clinics incorporate a distinct educational dimension in addition to providing general and diabetes-focused medical care, ophthalmology services and diabetic eye screenings, confidential testing, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted diseases.
Your gift to the SHARING Clinic Operations Fund or Securing the Future Fund for the SHARING Clinic will make a difference now and in the future. Thank you for your support.
Securing the Future Fund for the SHARING Clinic is a permanent endowment established as a perpetual source of support for basic operations and patient care expenses. The endowment insures the clinics have funds available to benefit the needy and indigent in the Omaha community in perpetuity.
Philanthropic gifts to the SHARING Clinic Operations Fund help defray the cost of patient care including lab tests, x-rays, medications, prescriptions, and vaccines in addition to rent, office supplies, patient education materials, and interpreters as needed. Patients of the SHARING Clinics are seen regardless of their ability to pay a requested $10 per visit co-pay.
