Support the
Nebraska Statewide Arboretum
The Nebraska Statewide
Arboretum is a program of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Institute of
Agriculture and Natural Resources dedicated to community development and environmental
quality. The vision, values and aspirations of this program are summed up in
the theme Every Town a Garden, which declares commitment to
the greening of
every community in the state, making each a more attractive, healthy, vital
place to live, work and visit.
The impacts of NSA are statewide in scope. The NSA network of arboretums and
public gardens, unique in the nation, encompasses more than 80 host communities
across Nebraska. Grant programs administered by NSA have had an even more far-reaching
impact, delivering funding to more than 200 Nebraska communities for public landscaping
projects involving parks, schools, libraries, business districts and other places
important to community life. Finally, NSA promotes the use of water-conserving
practices and plants through the GreatPlants Program, which brings new
Nebraska-hardy trees, shrubs, wildflowers and other landscape plants to consumers
each year.
