Paul Olson Excellence Fund

Colleagues and students alike have long been inspired by Paul’s passion for education and his way of helping students truly engage with a topic. It is with this commitment in mind the English Department established the Paul Olson Excellence Fund.

English Department Development Fund

Supports a range of department programs and student needs: assistance to undergraduate and graduate students, writing and scholarship awards, visiting lecturers and writers, and special opportunities for the department and the community.

The Robert Knoll Lecture Series Fund

Supports an annual lecture by a noted scholar of literary studies. It honors the life-long commitment of Robert E. Knoll to the teaching and study of literature.

The Dudley and Sue Bailey Fund

Provides undergraduate and graduate student support honoring a renowned former faculty member and long-time department chair.

The Gaffney General Fund

This fund is used to supplement department funds for student assistance and travel to conferences, visiting lecturers, and other department, campus, and community activities.

Nicholas Spencer Graduate Fellowship Fund

Provides graduate fellowship funds honoring a brilliant teacher and mentor who was an intellectual leader in the department as a scholar of Twentieth Century American Literature and Critical Theory.
