About the Foundation
The University of Nebraska Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of the University of Nebraska. The foundation was founded in 1936 by private donors to create a university greater than what the state alone could afford.
Over the years we have developed a number of We Believe statements which guide us in our relationships with donors, one another and the university. We Believe:
Private gifts have the power to transform higher education.
Higher education transforms lives and communities.
The university determines priorities.
Donors determine where to direct their gifts.
The relationship with the donor is valued as much as the gift.
What we help donors achieve isn’t measured in dollars and cents.
Every employee contributes to every gift.
Our goals are reached as a team. We respect our colleagues – as individuals and as professionals.
We should be held accountable – to each other, to our donors and to the university.
Philanthropy should be fulfilling, inspiring and fun.
Most of all we believe our integrity, not our endowment, is our greatest asset.
The foundation has 4 locations in Lincoln, Omaha, Kearney and Scottsbluff employing about 150 people. To contact us please fill out the contact form. If you would like to reach a specific person you can view our staff directory.
The foundation enjoys dedicated leadership and hard-working trustees whose guidance and support have allowed the foundation to successfully support the university for decades in good times and bad.
