The University of Nebraska Medical Center has expanded its Low Vision Services into the Weigel Williamson Center for Visual Rehabilitation. The mission of the center is to provide persons who are visually impaired with services that will allow them to continue living as independently and productively as possible - for as long as possible - in their own homes and communities.
The center is a specially designed free standing Low Vision House located in midtown Omaha. The unique home setting allows for implementation of low vision environmental adaptations to demonstrate to clients and their families how a home can easily be adapted for visually impaired people.
To honor Dr. Dinsdaleās dedication to his profession and his many contributions to the UNMC department of ophthalmology and its low vision services, contributions to this fund will provide ongoing support for the Weigel Williamson Center for Visual Rehabilitation.
