The College of Public Health's
mission is to deliver high quality education, research and public
service in the areas of biosecurity/biopreparedness; biostatistics;
environmental, agricultural, and occupational health services;
epidemiology; ethics and humanities in health; health disparities;
health policy analysis, health services administration; health services
research; health promotion/disease prevention; rural health; and
toxicology.
The College of Public Health is a principal provider of professional
and continuing education for Nebraska's and the region's public health
work force. Academic programs prepare experts, including future public
health specialties faculty, to serve in Nebraska, nationally and
internationally.
The college conducts multidisciplinary research with colleagues
within and outside UNMC. Research priorities are developed in
collaboration with, and response to, the needs of the community.
Consistent with the University of Nebraska's mission as a land grant
institution, the College of Public Health serves the people of Nebraska
in many ways. Through public health interventions to improve wellness,
by pursing effective and efficient health care delivery methods, by
offering advice and consultation to community organizations and public
policy makers to enhance public health. And more.
